A Closer Look at the 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport

 

Though it looks a great deal like the Nissan Rogue, which was Nissan's most popular nameplate in 2016, the 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport is 12.1-inches shorter and .has a 2.3-inch shorter wheelbase. Under the hood, the 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport should come with a 2.0-liter direct-injection four-cylinder engine - known as the MR20DE - that produces 141-horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 147 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,400 rpm. This sporty engine features a Direct Injection Gasoline system, Twin Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control on both intake and exhaust, Diamond-Like Carbon coated valve lifters, TCV, and an 11.2:1 compression ratio. This engine is paired with Nissan's popular XTronic continuously variable transmission that provides smooth and "stepless" ratio changes as well as front-wheel drive, Active Ride Control, Active Engine Braking, up to 19-inch alloy wheels, and optional All-Wheel Drive system. The crossover will be available in three trims - S, SV, SL - eight standard colors and two custom exterior colors.

While it is slightly smaller than the 2017 Nissan Rogue, it actually still quite roomy for a smaller crossover and give drivers 39.6 inches in front headroom 38.3 in rear headroom, 4.5 inches in the front and second-row leg room and 5.2 inches in hip room. As far as storage space, the 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport 61.1 cubic feet of cargo space - with the 2nd-row seat folded - six luggage hooks, and the available Divide-N-Hide Cargo System. It also features the V-motion grille, angular headlamps, and a sport bumper design.

The interior of the 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport will be loaded with comfort, luxury, and hi-tech features. Some of the optional interior features include a 7.0-inch color touch-screen display, premium interior accents, heated front seats, and NissanConnect with Navigation, which includes Valet Alert, SiriusXM Traffic, voice command, and even a Google search tool.  Keeping drivers and passengers safe are a host of safety features, both optional and standard, including Lane Departure Warning, Nissan Advanced Air Bag System, three-point front and rear seatbelts, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Intelligent Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, and High Beam Assist.
